World Book Day is always one of the most exciting days in our school calendar, and this year did not disappoint. Children and staff arrived dressed as their favourite literary characters, transforming the corridors into something straight out of a library shelf.
Highlights included a whole-school story time, a character parade in the hall, and a visit from a local author who talked to Key Stage 2 children about where their ideas come from and how a book goes from first draft to finished copy.
Every child received their £1 World Book Day token, which can be exchanged at participating bookshops and supermarkets. We encourage all families to take this opportunity to choose a new book to enjoy together at home.
