Autumn Term
This term, Year 6 are exploring our exciting topic, ‘World at War’. We began our journey by travelling back to World War One, before moving forward in time to investigate World War Two. Later in the term, we will bring our learning closer to the present day as we explore more recent conflicts and consider how the world has changed over time.
At the beginning of the topic, the children took part in a pupil voice activity, sharing their ideas and questions about what they would like to discover. Their interests have helped to shape our learning, giving the children greater ownership of the direction our topic takes.
Our learning extends beyond the classroom, with a mixture of research, creative activities, practical challenges and outdoor learning experiences. Across the curriculum, the children are developing their historical knowledge while making links with literacy, numeracy, digital skills, expressive arts and health and wellbeing.
