Welcome to Acorns Class
A very warm welcome back to all of our children and families. We are delighted to begin another exciting year together!
Please come back each month for regular updates!
Class Information
Our curriculum places a strong emphasis on play-based learning, as we know that children learn best when they are engaged, exploring, investigating and having fun. Many of our activities involve sensory experiences such as water, mud, paint, sand and messy play.
As a result, children may get wet, dirty or messy during the school day.
Please ensure your child has a full set of spare clothes in school at all times.
We also spend lots of time learning outdoors in all weathers, so please provide appropriate outdoor clothing, including a waterproof coat and wellies or suitable spare outdoor shoes.
Learning in Acorns
During the Autumn Term, our learning will be split into two engaging topics.
In Autumn 1, we are exploring “All About Me”, where children will learn about their bodies, facial features and the five senses through lots of practical, hands-on activities.
After half term, Autumn 2 will move on to “Colours in Festivals”, exploring the colours of autumn and celebrations including Bonfire Night, Diwali and Christmas through sensory play and creative activities.
