Welcome to Reception! W are looking forward to a fantastic year filled with exciting learning, new challenges and lots of fun.

We can’t wait to see our children grow in confidence, develop new skills and make wonderful memories together!

Our theme for the year is Reception is ‘Seize the Season’, which will give the children opportunities to explore and experience the world around them as it changes throughout the seasons.

During the Autumn term, we will be noticing changes that autumn brings, exploring the natural world and learning about harvest, seasonal foods and woodland animals. The children will take part in autumn walks, hands on investigations, creative activities and outdoor learning, using their senses to observe, explore and ask questions about what they discover. Through stories such as Pumpkin Soup and owl babies, we will also explore themes including friendship, families, feelings, healthy living and working together.

As the year progresses, we will continue to revisit our topic and discover how our environment changes through Winter, Spring and Summer.
