Welcome to Blwyddyn 6's Page
Our classrooms are welcoming and supportive environments where children are encouraged to feel confident, curious, and ready to learn. We aim to create a positive space in which every pupil feels valued and inspired.

Welcome to our Year 6 class page. This term, our topic is World at War. We will begin by exploring the causes of World War I and the events that led to its outbreak. We will then move on to studying the key events of World War II. Finally, we will look at more recent conflicts and consider how they continue to impact the world today.

In our missions this week we learnt how to tie a variety of knots including bow line and reef knot. We also recreated some of Paul Nash’s wartime artwork.

Year 6 have enjoyed having Cardiff city in doing classroom and outdoor based learning, we have learnt about ways of keeping healthy, a balanced diet and practiced our ball and teamwork skills outdoors.
We used our knot tying skills to help us create a shelter outdoors, we really enjoyed working as a team and using the outdoor resources to support this activity.

We love spending time in the wellbeing pod, it gives us the time and space to talk about how we are feeling and how to manage our feelings.

Parental engagement afternoon, we really enjoyed having our parents/grandparents in school, taking part in some of our learning. We worked together to create a piece of art inspired by WW2.
