Reading Challenge: Over 1,000 Books Read This Term

We are delighted to announce that our whole-school Reading Challenge has been an enormous success. Over the course of the spring term, children logged their reading at home and in school – and the final tally came to an incredible 1,047 books read across the whole school.

Every class that hit its individual target has earned a non-uniform day next Friday, and three classes exceeded their targets by more than 50%, earning a class treat of their choice.

The challenge was introduced to encourage reading for pleasure, and the feedback from families has been really positive. Many parents have told us that their children are now asking to visit the library and picking up a book before bed without being prompted.

A new challenge will run after half-term with a summer reading theme. Details will be sent home via ParentMail. Thank you to everyone who took part – reading really is the key to everything!
