Our Harvest Festival this autumn was a wonderful reminder of the importance of community and generosity. Families responded brilliantly to our call for donations, and by the time our collection closed we had enough tins, packets and jars to fill a full transit van.
All donations have been delivered to our local food bank, which supports hundreds of families in the area every month. Representatives from the food bank joined us for a special assembly and spoke to the children about the difference their contributions make to real people in our community.
Children from Year 1 to Year 6 also performed Harvest songs and poems they had been learning in class, with our youngest pupils in Reception stealing the show with their rendition of “Cauliflowers Fluffy”.
We are incredibly proud of the generosity shown by our whole school community. Thank you to every family that contributed.
