Welcome to Year 1! We are looking forward to a fantastic year filled with exciting learning, new experiences and lots of fun.

We are excited to see our children grow in confidence, become more independent and develop new skills as they begin their journey through Year 1.

This term our topic is AMAZING ME! We have started our learning by exploring friendships and thinking about what makes a kind, caring and supportive friend. We have used our Digital Competence skills to create drawings of our friends on the iPads and talked about the qualities that make a great friend.

We have also been discovering what makes each of us amazing and unique. We have explored our different features and celebrated the things we like most about ourselves. We have talked about the important people in our lives and why they are special to us.

As we continue our topic, we will explore the similarities and differences between ourselves and others, helping us to understand and celebrate what makes everyone unique. We will also learn about keeping our bodies healthy, including healthy foods, exercise and ways we can look after our teeth.

It’s going to be an amazing term of learning, discovering what makes us special and celebrating just how AMAZING we are!
